Yes, yes, the dear MiL ... Now a battle about nannies ensued at the Danish royal court. For Crown Princess Mary wants to raise her four kids by herself if possible.
MiL's meddle in marriages all over the world and supposedly destroy every fourth marriage. Well, their reputation is perhaps worse than the reality - but is in most stereotypes there is often a grain of truth in the saying. At the Danish royal court as well? One thing is certain: When it comes to raising children Crown Princess Mary (38) and MiL Queen Margrethe (70), do not share the same opinion. If you believe the magazine "Her og Nu" the 4-time mother gives a sh**t about the Queen's advice. She wants to raise her children to raise her children by herself!
This is Mary realising that she is - and has been all along - actually "tolerated and irrelevant" and that Margrethe is going to make sure that the children have a royal upbringing - sans bogan, snobbish values. If Mary thinks she will prevail against the royal family, when their future (the next generation) is at stake, she had better take the narcissism and hubris down a notch or two. Margrethe (and Jokke) would have viewed with horror, Mary's children misbehaving in public. They won't trust her to bring them up. HH xx

Someone tell me if I'm wrong but doesn't European law establish that the monarch is in control of all the heirs. MII could technically force her educational views on the CPss. Same with Queen Elizabeth II. Rainier III's grandfather even sued and got custody of him as a child from his father (I think in London).

Princess Marie was the guest of honor, since the designer Malene Birger presented her new collection at a crash of a fashion show at Charlottenborg in Nyhavn. The show was widely considered the Copenhagen fashion week climax. And for fans of the royal house was definitely the highlight, for Marie did a good figure.
- Marie: looked good, dressed in a black pant-suit with an interesteding jacke collar, but strange looking satind/leather shoulder inserts; she has a very nice updo and big hoop earrings;
- Britt Siesby: has also some strange one-shoulder ruffle thingie on - don't know, it seems like a dress, bronze coloured
- Moshens stylis (forgot her name): looked like butch and like a bitch in some pics
- Caroline Heering: was there, but not sitting in the vacinity of Marie -> dressed in what looks like a on shouldered black jumpsuit
All those pics of Marie in the front row, and not one of her staring straight into the camera. When Mary's there, it's hard to find pictures of her looking at anything but the camera. I bet no one misses her. BB's coverage of Marie is skewing very positive these days. I wonder if they've realized they've been betting on the wrong horse with Mary?

Is it a coincedence that Monaco's Albert visits Tunesia around the same time that the French minister for foreign affairs visits there too? Is it a coincedence that the French prime minister and his family spend Christmas at Mubarak's cost in Egypt, enjoying an expensive hotel, Egyptian state plane and a Nile cruise. Closely followed by Albert and his hired fiancée, if not at the same time, doing the same thing? Did Albert pay for his stay in Egypt or was it a freebie?
On a totally different subject: the Monte-Carlo tennis tournament gets hijacked for Albert's (fiancée's) purposes: non-related charity. Poor tennis players that are forced to participate. They are more lyric about this than about the wedding (if possible) mentioning "many A-list celebrities and VIPs from the world of fashion and entertainment". Now if someone can explain to me why Albert's foundation got mentioned...

I would love to be happy for the guy but unless I get more info, I predict a very unhappy future for him. He could do with a wife that's strong in de support, aiding and abetting department and I don't see his current fiancée lifting even a finger there. A lot to report on Monaco, including some more media who are now reporting on Charlene's plastic surgeries; Albert's events in Monaco on Monday & Tuesday; reports on Albert hanging out with corrupted Barisan Nationals; the full deluded article about Charlene's so-called power (more vindictiveness) from Charlene's number one fan at Bunte - the creepy guy; the European Committee against Racism and Intolerance issued report on Monaco which shows it is discriminatory; Monaco Times article stating that the invitations have been sent to royals and heads of states AND I quote "Charlene Wittstock is currently one of the most watched women in the world... and most eyes are fixed on the 2nd of July, the day that the South African beauty will marry her prince"; and A South African newspaper article asking South Africans to not focus so much on Kate and give Charlene the "royal treatment".
One other thing: Charlene is now trying to pass off a looker-me-mini-tour as charity events. In her original interview last week about the Midmar Mile swim race she wanted everyone to know where she will be including this information:
"Once she arrives here her schedule will be hectic. It includes a breakfast at St Johns School in Pietermaritzburg to open its school pool, as well as the Nelson Mandela Photographic Exhibition in Pietermaritzburg on the Friday before the race, but she will also have a little time to catch up with friends."
Now I read that she is trying to pass off the visit at the private St. John's boarding school to open their pool as a charity event. Charlene just want the cameras to be there and follow her. What's the point of going home to boast and show off your won goodies is no one is looking.
I don't know how I forgot this tidbit: the results are in from Moacno's $7 million image enhancer ad campaign and drum roll - it was a dismissal failure. Albert's personal PR advisors Christiane Stahl (in charge of the wedding PR) and Jean-Luc Mano (who predicted that Charlene and this wedding would be a worldwide hit) were a member of the panel reporting the results. Instead of learning from their mistakes and rethinking this entire campaign (why not spend the millions on cultural activities that will make Monaco more attractive) they have decided to redo the French campaign and then conquer UK and next America. Trashy Albert and Charlene are the most visual face of Monaco, so any money to change Monaco's image from one of flashy and bling-bling is wasted as long as Stahl and Mano are promoting Albert and Charlene as a fairytale love story and the world's answer to the economic crisis. Let's clear up a big myth about this wedding - Albert is having an outdoor wedding to be close to his people and invite many of them as possible. Wrong! When Albert originally reported that his wedding was going to be oputside and 1000 invited he NEVER gave a reason why. The Monaco media decided to spin it as wanting to be close to his people. Once Sucker Al realized that his people exoprected to be invited and onkly after the dismaiaal crowd showed up to greet their future Princess Charlene during National Day, Stahl and ALbert realized that they needed to assure that they had a crowd in front of the palace balcny - thus the new number of 4000 being invited. Stahl actually mentioned in the new details about the wedding that they need as big of an audience in the streets and at the palace as possible - for the cameras- when Charlene walks up to the palace on a long red carpet and when the Prince and Princess do a car tour of the city. Only 500 guests (way less than 800 who could fit inside the cathedral) will actually be inside the Palace Pourtyard during the service, the others will be watching outside in the Palace Square (i.e. street) watching on big screens.
Also, the wedding is not being held in the cathedral because the wedding production manager Jerome Revon needs a lot more space for his 18 cameras so that the services can be filmed in 3D (Jerome had dubbed this wedding the wedding of the century and he wanted in the latest technology because it is going to be played for generations to come). remember. Buckingham Palace nixed the 3d wedding ceremony because of lack of space and distraction in Westminster Abbey. Albert and Charlene could care less about the sanctity of their wedding ceremony - theirs is a production not a wedding.

Re. "conquering" the US: I see troubles. Albert's court case for one (I found it odd that he skipped the PGA last year) that might bring more problems. Not practical to hold a promo campaign when half of the promo duo won't or can't come to the US. And the US already has its fill of surgically enhanced bottle blonds to last them into the next millennium. I doubt the fiancée will even make a blip on the radar there...

Apparently Mary's birthday party was very small - and the 10 guests (including Marie and Joachim) didn't stay long. And we're talking a party, not just a dinner party, based on the account of loud music. "The private friends of Mary and Frederik arrived in the evening. At 19.00. Among them were naturally Caroline and Peter Heering, Christoffer Carstenschiold, Ellen Hillingsø, Jeppe and Birgitte Handwerk, Helle and Otto Reedtz-Thott, altogether ten guests. The mood was apparantly fine from the beginning, our two vigilant reporters, standing at the square, could hear the music going at full throttle. After about an hour, all the guest went up to the private apartment. However the guests left fairly early, so come Sunday, M&F could go for a long drive." : )
I am surprised that there are no official photos of these twins, even the diehards at the sugarboards are starting to wonder what is up. Maybe I am getting older but if you have a party of only 10 people why would one have the music cranked up? That happens at our house of course but it usually means we are rocking it on Guitar Hero. Well, maybe that is what they were doing. But come a certain age, wouldn't adults want to sit around and have a nice intelligent conversation?

04.40 comment: regarding tiaras during Charles and Camilla visit to Spain, I doubt it very much. It's not a State Visit but an official visit. I've read today that Felipe and Letizia will be their hosts.
There is a State Visit from Ireland at the end of March or May. Letizia and the Queen will wear tiaras then.

It seems the invitations to the most disastrous wedding of the century (Monaco) have been sent. The thing kind of gets an inevitable feel about it. I'd wish Albert would come to his senses and cancel the whole thing or at least would find some decent bride.

Princess Marie was the guest of honor, since the designer Malene Birger presented her new collection at a crash of a fashion show at Charlottenborg in Nyhavn. The show was widely considered the Copenhagen fashion week climax. And for fans of the royal house was definitely the highlight, for Marie did a good figure.
- Marie: looked good, dressed in a black pant-suit with an interesteding jacke collar, but strange looking satind/leather shoulder inserts; she has a very nice updo and big hoop earrings;
- Britt Siesby: has also some strange one-shoulder ruffle thingie on - don't know, it seems like a dress, bronze coloured
- Moshens stylis (forgot her name): looked like butch and like a bitch in some pics
- Caroline Heering: was there, but not sitting in the vacinity of Marie -> dressed in what looks like a on shouldered black jumpsuit

All those pics of Marie in the front row, and not one of her staring straight into the camera. When Mary's there, it's hard to find pictures of her looking at anything but the camera. Is it a coincedence that Monaco's Albert visits Tunesia around the same time that the French minister for foreign affairs visits there too? Is it a coincedence that the French prime minister and his family spend Christmas at Mubarak's cost in Egypt, enjoying an expensive hotel, Egyptian state plane and a Nile cruise. Closely followed by Albert and his hired fiancée, if not at the same time, doing the same thing? Did Albert pay for his stay in Egypt or was it a freebie?
On a totally different subject: the Monte-Carlo tennis tournament gets hijacked for Albert's (fiancée's) purposes: non-related charity. Poor tennis players that are forced to participate. They are more lyric about this than about the wedding (if possible) mentioning "many A-list celebrities and VIPs from the world of fashion and entertainment".
Now if someone can explain to me why Albert's foundation got mentioned...
And to the anonymous poster @ 8. feb. 2011 15.27 that took issue with my posts: grow a spine and don't post anonymous. I bet you know as much about Albert as I do so don't pretend to know more or join the board and enlighten us all. I would love to be happy for the guy but unless I get more info, I predict a very unhappy future for him. He could do with a wife that's strong in de support, aiding and abetting department and I don't see his current fiancée lifting even a finger there.

A lot to report on Monaco, including some more media who are now reporting on Charlene's plastic surgeries; Albert's events in Monaco on Monday & Tuesday; reports on Albert hanging out with corrupted Barisan Nationals; the full deluded article about Charlene's so-called power (more vindictiveness) from Charlene's number one fan at Bunte - the creepy guy; the European Committee against Racism and Intolerance issued report on Monaco which shows it is discriminatory; Monaco Times article stating that the invitations have been sent to royals and heads of states AND I quote "Charlene Wittstock is currently one of the most watched women in the world... and most eyes are fixed on the 2nd of July, the day that the South African beauty will marry her prince"; and A South African newspaper article asking South Africans to not focus so much on Kate and give Charlene the "royal treatment".
One other thing: Charlene is now trying to pass off a looker-me-mini-tour as charity events. In her original interview last week about the Midmar Mile swim race she wanted everyone to know where she will be including this information:
"Once she arrives here her schedule will be hectic. It includes a breakfast at St Johns School in Pietermaritzburg to open its school pool, as well as the Nelson Mandela Photographic Exhibition in Pietermaritzburg on the Friday before the race, but she will also have a little time to catch up with friends."
Now I read that she is trying to pass off the visit at the private St. John's boarding school to open their pool as a charity event. Charlene just want the cameras to be there and follow her. What's the point of going home to boast and show off your won goodies is no one is looking.

I don't know how I forgot this tidbit: the results are in from Moacno's $7 million image enhancer ad campaign and drum roll - it was a dismissal failure. Albert's personal PR advisors Christiane Stahl (in charge of the wedding PR) and Jean-Luc Mano (who predicted that Charlene and this wedding would be a worldwide hit) were a member of the panel reporting the results. Instead of learning from their mistakes and rethinking this entire campaign (why not spend the millions on cultural activities that will make Monaco more attractive) they have decided to redo the French campaign and then conquer UK and next America. Trashy Albert and Charlene are the most visual face of Monaco, so any money to change Monaco's image from one of flashy and bling-bling is wasted as long as Stahl and Mano are promoting Albert and Charlene as a fairytale love story and the world's answer to the economic crisis. All the experts on the panel were scratching their heads as to why Monaco's cultural attractiveness numbers decreased during the campaign. Duuuhhhhhh - a plastic surgery addicted high school dropout is not the best advertisement as a cultural elite.
Let's clear up a big myth about this wedding - Albert is having an outdoor wedding to be close to his people and invite many of them as possible. Wrong! When Albert originally reported that his wedding was going to be oputside and 1000 invited he NEVER gave a reason why. The Monaco media decided to spin it as wanting to be close to his people. Once Sucker Al realized that his people exoprected to be invited and onkly after the dismaiaal crowd showed up to greet their future Princess Charlene during National Day, Stahl and ALbert realized that they needed to assure that they had a crowd in front of the palace balcny - thus the new number of 4000 being invited. Stahl actually mentioned in the new details about the wedding that they need as big of an audience in the streets and at the palace as possible - for the cameras- when Charlene walks up to the palace on a long red carpet and when the Prince and Princess do a car tour of the city. Only 500 guests (way less than 800 who could fit inside the cathedral) will actually be inside the Palace Pourtyard during the service, the others will be watching outside in the Palace Square (i.e. street) watching on big screens.
Also, the wedding is not being held in the cathedral because the wedding production manager Jerome Revon needs a lot more space for his 18 cameras so that the services can be filmed in 3D (Jerome had dubbed this wedding the wedding of the century and he wanted in the latest technology because it is going to be played for generations to come). remember. Buckingham Palace nixed the 3d wedding ceremony because of lack of space and distraction in Westminster Abbey. Albert and Charlene could care less about the sanctity of their wedding ceremony - theirs is a production not a wedding.

Do any of the 4,000 get invited to the dinner or ball, or once they serve their purpose, they are to leave?

they probably sent out 10.000 invitations in the hope that 4.000 will turn up for the show. They need them to fill the streets. I do not think they will feed them. Maybe there are cruise ship specials. In Monaco Passengers are kicked off the boats for two days with little flags just for the purpose of an additional crowd.

Re. "conquering" the US: I see troubles. Albert's court case for one (I found it odd that he skipped the PGA last year) that might bring more problems. Not practical to hold a promo campaign when half of the promo duo won't or can't come to the US. And the US already has its fill of surgically enhanced bottle blonds to last them into the next millennium. I doubt the fiancée will even make a blip on the radar there...

Bought Her&nu today, it has an article (the main story on the front page) on how Marie over shines Alex. Minor story is that Margrethe has sent Mary a birthday present but hasn't called her on her B-day.
F&M are basically invisible in this issue.
The last BilledBladet had a "did you know that" about that Mary, returning from her big trip abroad after the mom died, had a job as the boss of some kind of company. I'll have to look it up again how it was put but it seemed like BB spin.

Diog I can't answer for T & M but I think there is small revenue from advertising - but there's always been a donate button on RD. Thanks for the reminder - we should all formalise a subscription a little. Remember, though, that about 12 of the RD members pay for the BB subscription that Cece scans for us - that's some $400 a year between them.

Harley...I'm with you on that! Maria & Thomas wouldn't just disappear, they would tell us flat out if they intended to close RD.
I just think it's a time consuming undertaking to switch servers and it's not their first priority in daily life.
That said, I feel like my lovely relative went on vacation without sending me a card...where are they, what are they doing...when are they coming home??????
I stopped reading the sugar boards and blogs, because I have to bite my tongue reading their posts. I just hope that RD will be up soon and we all can catch up with each other.

So, patience is key right now.

Apparently Mary's birthday party was very small - and the 10 guests (including Marie and Joachim) didn't stay long. And we're talking a party, not just a dinner party, based on the account of loud music. "The private friends of Mary and Frederik arrived in the evening. At 19.00. Among them were naturally Caroline and Peter Heering, Christoffer Carstenschiold, Ellen Hillingsø, Jeppe and Birgitte Handwerk, Helle and Otto Reedtz-Thott, altogether ten guests.
The mood was apparantly fine from the beginning, our two vigilant reporters, standing at the square, could hear the music going at full throttle. After about an hour, all the guest went up to the private apartment.
However the guests left fairly early, so come Sunday, M&F could go for a long drive."

I am surprised that there are no official photos of these twins, even the diehards at the sugarboards are starting to wonder what is up. Maybe I am getting older but if you have a party of only 10 people why would one have the music cranked up? That happens at our house of course but it usually means we are rocking it on Guitar Hero. Well, maybe that is what they were doing. But come a certain age, wouldn't adults want to sit around and have a nice intelligent conversation?

Hi Hes! Pippi of Awards here. I am also so jealous. My Safari and Firefox are not working. Maybe Thomas updated it for Windows and not to OSX. WHAAAAAAAA
I think we're all having troubles :( I got in twice, posted two messages, then I was kicked out and couldn't get back before I deleted cookies and web history, then used the www. address.
